Kathryn Underwood joined Ledyard National Bank in 2005 as the President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Ledyard, she spent her entire professional career with the KeyBank organization in Maine. She started in lending, first with credit and workouts and then as a commercial lender for small businesses.
She spent the next twelve years in wealth management at Key, with responsibilities for managing the function for the state of Maine. During her last five years at Key, Kathy served as their District President in Maine with responsibility for all retail and business banking in the state. Key was a $2.5 billion operation in Maine with 64 branches.
Kathy serves as a delegate of the Independent Community Bankers of America, serves on the board of ICBA Securities, and is a past board member and past president of the New Hampshire Bankers Association. She serves on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Community Bank Advisory Council in Washington D.C. She is on the board of Kendal at Hanover and is also a member of the Upper Valley Corporate Council. She serves on the board of the New Hampshire American Heart Association, where she is also the Upper Valley Go Red Chair. She recently completed a 6-year term on the Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston where she also served as the Chair of their Audit Committee.
Kathy has a degree in Economics from the University of Southern Maine and she is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
